Anzu is delighted to work with Oddshot Games, an indie game development and publishing studio headquartered in Belgium with a global team across the US, Canada, Ireland, and Australia, to bring intrinsic in-game ads to its popular ice hockey title, Slapshot: Rebound, created in the Unity gaming engine.

Reflecting Real-Life Brand Sponsorships

Oddshot Games were looking for a way to introduce advertising that reflected real-life sponsorships into the ice hockey rink, adding a revenue channel intrinsic to the game without disrupting the players’ experience.


The studio began working with Anzu to seamlessly integrate its non-intrusive display ad placements, using Anzu’s Unity-verified SDK, into the ice rinks and within the stadium where players expect to see advertising, optimizing the placements to ensure they fit naturally into the environment and are fully viewable to allow better fill rates. The studio then proceeded adding intrinsic in-game video ads into Slapshot: Rebound.

Since implementing intrinsic in-game advertising, Oddshot Games experienced fantastic results for both
in-game display and video placements, which allowed the development team to focus on player acquisition
and retention, promoting their game to a wider audience.
