Enthusiast Gaming has completed a deal to merge with the esports firm Luminosity Gaming, reports Games Industry. With the merger, the new organization will be called Enthusiast Gaming Holdings and would be a publicly traded entity, on the TSX Venture Exchange.



The South African highlights the growing interest in gaming in the country which has led to an increase in in-game purchases. The report dives into how social gaming has positively impacted the free-to-play revenue model. Read more here.



Anzu’s CEO and Co-Founder, Itamar Benedy, features in the latest news report from AdWeek on mobile gaming. Programmers are sparking new types of advertisements to drum up revenue without turning their customers off. “The last thing game developers wanted was an in-game billboard that swallowed valuable screen real estate or a banner ad that distracts from gameplay,” says Itamar. The latest brand to join the esports phenomenon is French fashion house Louis Vuitton! The brand would design clothing for characters in the popular fantasy video game League of Legends as part of a new partnership between LVMH unit and Riot Games. The first of these outfits, called skins in gaming parlance, will be unveiled during the League of Legends World Championships, which end in Paris in November, reports Ad Age.



Malta will be hosting Playcon, the city’s first game development and esports expo to be held on October 3-6 at the MFCC. Playcon will showcase the opportunities present in the Maltese gaming industry and a chance to discuss the future of video games and esports, as an extension of the DELTA Summit, part of the Malta Tech Week.
